Cripple Creek Corner
Cripple Creek Corner Dance Studio has been a part of the Burgaw community since it was established in 1982. Not only is it a dance studio but it has served as a town meeting place, a community arts center, a wedding chapel/reception hall, a theatre, and a temporary courtroom for the city. Here are a few things currently happening on the corner!
Youth Dances
Starting in the mid-80′s Cripple Creek held Youth Dances for kids from Middle School to High School in order to earn some extra income. We continue this tradtion to help provide the local kids with a fun and safe Saturday night without having to go to Wallace or Wilmington. The admission costs $5 and cheap refreshments are available so that young people can dance and hang out with each other in a fun, exciting atmosphere. Held monthly on Saturdays from 7PM – 11PM. The next dance will be held March 10th!
Community Arts Program
In the past, Cripple Creek Corner has been a performance hall for both High School and Community Theatre. We are currently continuing events like this and will be holding other performances of both community theatre and dinner theatre in the coming year. We hope you’ll come out to a show!
Sound Emergencies
Started by Bruce Aycock in 1998, Sound Emergencies is actually a small DJ group that operates out of Cripple Creek Corner. They provide music for the Cripple Creek Youth Dances and other events held at Cripple Creek and they can also be hired out for events around the area. Sound Emergencies has three DJs always on call. Rentals
The studio can be rented out for various events. We’ve been home to award banquets, weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries, and many other celebrations. We hope you’ll have your special occasion with us. Just call (910) 259-5192. Our prices for rental are listed below.
$125 per hour
$500 for 4 hour block ($50 each additional hour)
$150 (Studio DJ)
Deposit: $100 (2 weeks in advance – to hold date)
Clean up fee = $100 NO CONFETTI
