00Our Story
The Cripple Creek Cloggers are a competition clogging team that dance at Cripple Creek Corner. They have been dancing since 1982 when the studio first started and they continue to perform & compete today throughout North Carolina. The team was founded by Nancy Aycock Rivenbark and her late husband, Lewis “Buck” Aycock. While Nancy still oversees the studio, the team is now under the direction of former students, Brittany Norris, Rebecca Norris and Nancy’s son, Jason Aycock. Over the years the team has won 5 National Championships in the Junior Age Division. Originally only 16 dancers, the ranks of the Cripple Creek Cloggers have grown to around 55 dancers from ages 6-69.

Dance Styles
The clogging team is well versed in both freestyle and precision dancing and while the first cloggers were mostly traditional dancers, the team now splits it’s time with both traditional and contemporary routines. Cripple Creek’s traditional routines combine old style clogging footwork with English Square Dance style figures. Not to be outmatched, the contemporary dances are on the edge of precision style footwork and often danced to modern music of various styles.
