Cripple Creek Corner was founded in 1982 by the late Lewis “Buck” Aycock and his wife, Nancy. Their goal was to create a place to not only teach dance but to help provide the community with arts enrichment. Over the last three decades, the studio has offered classes in clogging, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern/lyrical, theatre dance, zumba, jazzercise, aerobics, and partner dancing like shagging and ballroom. In that time the studio has also become a place for community gatherings, weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. It has housed a preschool, community arts center, outdoor/after school club and was even the temporary home for the Pender County Courthouse. Still under the direction and ownership of Miss Nancy, she leads a group of dance teachers that continually strive to offer the best dance education and experience throughout the Burgaw community.
